Support for Parents

Has your child just “come out” to you as LGBTQ? Are you struggling to accept your child’s gender or sexual identity? Do you want to make your community a safer place for your LGBTQ child? Have you thought about talking to your Rabbi about your LGBTQ child but don’t know how? Eshel offers several sources of support for Orthodox parents of LGBTQ children.

Parent Retreat

Eshel’s Annual National Parent Retreat, located on the East Coast, brings Orthodox parents of LGBTQ children from around the country together for a shabbat of community, learning, and support.

Regional Groups

Eshel runs regional Parent Chaburah Groups in the Mid-West and on the East and West Coasts. Contact info@eshelonline.org to participate in or organize a parent group in your area.

Call-In Support

Eshel runs a monthly call-in Parent Chaburah Group to offer support to the Orthodox parents of LGBTQ children. Join us the first Wednesday of every month at 8pm CT/9pm EST. Email miryam@eshelonline.org for a brief intake and the call-in number.
